Lainey and Jake lost their virginity to each other during college, freaked out, and went their separate ways. When they bump into each other many years later, they discover that their long-ago night of passion left lasting and detrimental consequences on their love lives: Jake has become a weaselly womanizer who often gets pushed into oncoming traffic by jilted partners, while Lainey is a-crazed man-hunter with low standards. They soon realize that their explosive chemistry might be both the cause of, and answer to, their problems, if only they could stop sleeping with other people.
